CRT 310 - PCB Business Cards
Creative Technologies
(Business Card Edition)
By: Bailey Henderson
Project Description:
This project involved creating business cards using PCBs, also known as printed circuit boards. This project was a collaborative effort involving two other people and myself. The card includes my contact information (left out of the picture above for privacy purposes) and the link to my Behance project page; if you're reading this, you're already here! Welcome!
Process:
To produce the cards, me and the other two group members decided to put the cards together using an assembly approach. Each member of the group performed a different task regarding building each card. The steps included first adding solder paste to each part of the card that a component would be attached. Next, the LEDs had to be carefully placed on each part of the circle and secured using the solder paste. Then, the PCBs had to go in a toaster oven to get the solder to reach the appropriate temperature to bond with the components, creating a stable connection. After the PCBs were done in the oven, a soldering iron was used to attach a battery holder to the board. Finally, once the PCB cooled, a battery could be placed in the holder, and the business card was complete! Below are some images of this process.
